Elementary Sign Language Class
ASL Vocabulary for Kids
Come learn basic ASL vocabulary and discover how much fun it can be to communicate with your hands! In this interactive class, children will learn signs for letters, numbers, family members, colors, nature, and more. We’ll practice our new signs through storytelling, songs, movement, games, and other hands-on activities.
Students will bring home handouts so they can continue practicing and sharing what they’ve learned with family and friends!
Please Note: This class is an introduction to ASL vocabulary rather than a complete American Sign Language course. ASL is its own language with unique grammar and syntax that differs from spoken English. The goal of this class is to introduce children to ASL vocabulary, build a basic understanding and appreciation for the language, and encourage them to continue learning more in the future.
